About

Matt Purcell whispers in the ears of kings and queens working with some of Australia’s biggest brands and high profile individuals.

However, Matt’s life wasn’t always one of accolades and success.

In fact, Matt was born in a small town in South Korea called Cholla-Bukto to a young mother who was unable to raise him.

After giving birth to her son, the young mother put him up for adoption, which led to Matt being adopted into the family he knows and loves today.

Matt has qualifications in mental health and successfully founded and exited “The Green Room MP” which has coached over 600 young people weekly in music, academy and life coaching which was sold in 2021.

He’s the founder of KYU Media, an award- winning creative agency in Sydney. They have worked with the likes of American Express, MJ Bale, Layne Beachley, Guy Sebastian and Tourism Australia. He is Australia’s leading expert in personal branding, where he guides experts to discover their brand identity.

Matt is the founder and CEO of Australia’s only Verbal Self Defense and Confidence Training Program, Social Kung Fu and its curriculum is available to all Australian schools, with a mission to impact the lives of 1-million Aussie kids. It is currently being researched by The University Of Sydney.

In 2023, Janine Allis (founder of Boost Juice) and Matt founded The Business Academy, which aims to educate small businesses in Australia to become the best business owners they can be.

Matt is a gifted communicator and educator and has been featured on TED-X, national television and has been part of national campaigns with the likes of Ford, Xero, Seek and LG.
